    August 27th

Six songs on the board this week - there were two songs that I really wanted to do.
    1. "Wish You Were Here" by Pink Floyd because of the sentiment.
    2. "You Can't Always Get What You Want" by the Stones because it is an absolute classic and with the backing choir, it would have been phenomenal.
I would have had an extremely tough time doing "Bohemian Rhapsody" because Freddy Mercury had such a feminine voice. I felt really lucky to get to do a Pink Floyd song. I feel honored to get to sing this song with a choir, the full band, a string section and an orchestra, crazy!
After song selection, Jordis & I hung out and listened to our songs. She is doing "Imagine" by John Lennon and we figured out the chord progression on guitar cause she wants to play acoustic guitar and sing. I'm amazed at her courage at taking the risk of playing and singing.
I woke up the next morning and memorized lyrics to "Wish You Were Here" and went in for rehearsal. The band and I have worked up such an incredible arrangement of the song. I have a lot of preparation work to do vocally but I don't want to overdo it. Keep it natural and simple. What an amazing honor to still be here after all these weeks and get the opportunity to sing these classic songs I have grown up with.
We all jumped in a van and headed to the Universal City Walk for a radio gig. When we arrived there were a few hundred fans there taking pictures and wanting autographs. It was totally surreal to have all these kids screaming out our names and wanting autographs. Really energized fans. We had a blast. I sang "What I Like About You" and did a high energy show. At the end of Suzie's performance we all ran onstage and took a bow. Lots of cameras flashing. Fun,Fun,Fun.
We got home and I worked on my song. Suzie, Ty, Jordis and I hung out in Jordis' room and we eventually passed out.
The next morning was more rehearsals for the performance show. I need to have a great show because all of the songs are so great this week. It is really intense. Everyone here is phenomenal and you have to shine every week in order to stay alive.

I am a 55 year old woman who remembers seeing the best bands in the world in concert. The Doors, Jimi Hendrix,Black Sabbath & Pink Floyd Plus Janis. Marty is the only one who comes close to being as original as those people were. I hope you win Marty but if you dont you still have big things in store for you.

I am in my late forties, a die hard rock fan, married and mother of two. My daughters grew up with the same appreciation for rock music, listening to my albums, then cassettes and on to CD's. Now, they have their own growing collection and share with me the thrill for INXS's, the success of ROCKSTAR INXS and the rebirth of a great band. No one can replace MH, he is irreplacable for the band members and his fans. What I believe will bring a rebirth for INXS is MARTY CASEY. Marty is ONE with the music, he feels and respects the music. I have reviewed all his performances, including a video from his band the Lovehammers. MARTY is consistently pure and original in his own right, yet you sense his love for other's music when he performs on stage. I am not a fan of music like Creedance Clearwater Revised, if you know what I mean. When I listen to music, I want the original sound of the band. Marty comes as close to MH as I want to hear. Don't get me wrong, the other performers are awesome too and I will follow their careers and buy their music. Suzie & Jordis are terrific, but I am not sure I would like either of them performing INXS backlog of music in concert. I know for sure, I would love to hear MARTY. That says it all folks~

Marty- I just have to say that I did not watch the show at first. I happened to be flipping and saw you singing and loved what I heard. I have been watching ever since. If for some ungodly reason INXS does not decide you are the right one for the band--you need not worry!! I have no doubt you will do fine without them. keep up the good work. I will be rooting for you as well as half the nation. thanks so much for gracing us with your voice.

After horrible scene from the bottom 3, you make the top again with Pink FLoyd, a sentimental rock song "Wish you were here" and with an encore sugested by Suzie. Don't give up your dream even the show is becoming very intense but you can make it. I'm your biggest fan of all the contestant!!! And it is sweet to see hug your member of your family, mother perhaps. Still, good and on a good track to lead as INXS singer. Continue !

Damn, I must be the only guy that stopped by to post here. I just wanted to congratulate you, Marty. I know you have wrestled with trying to figure out what the band wanted from you and I think it says a lot that you were sensitive enough to listen and change some things up a bit. You really threw yourself into that Floyd song and the Windy City is very proud to call you its own!!! Your performance was spectacular really and I'm glad it was recognized as such.

    Hi Marty,
You will be the front man for INXS! Besides spectacular talent, you have diplomacy, maturity, and the right philosophy for such a venture. I really do believe you will be the last man standing. The others are all special and good in their own right, but it is about the right one for INXS, an who can come the closest to carrying on what Michael Hutchence left. Keep the faith dude, you got it. CH
