August, 2005 August 17thAfter rehearsal, I kept going over my song in my head so I wouldn’t screw it up on stage. I knew it was going to be a unique show -- acoustic performances by all the singers. I can't believe that there are only eight of us left. The show started different than other performance shows. This one started with DRAMA!!! And Ladies and Gentleman may I introduce to you the King of Drama . . . Mr. J.D. I give it up to Jordis for tuning all the drama out and blowing the crowd away with her rendition of "Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door." The show was nice because the performances were chill and the focus was on the voice. When it came time for my song, I took a couple of deep breaths and said to myself "Just forget about everything else and rip the song up!" I performed the song okay but not as good as at rehearsal. My favorite performance of the evening was Deanna. She displayed so much vulnerability in her voice and stage appearance. That song is so vulnerable, and in my mind she nailed the feeling. She is one of the most honest compassionate people here. After the show we came back to the mansion and ate dinner. I was BEAT! I don’t know how things are going to work out in the next few weeks. To go on a world tour with INXS would be the most amazing experience on this planet. This is a crazy experience of life happening right now. I'm just trying to keep my head on straight and stay focused and remember it's about performing and singing to show where I came from and what I can bring to INXS. Have a great birthday, Mom. I love you so much. Comments (221)
