    September 17th

For the last clinic, we received an instrumental track of a new INXS song. Later I received a big surprise. I was directed outside to my new car. It was really cool to hop in and cruise around town. I sped over to the Gibson Showroom and met up with Andrew Farriss to song-write together. We worked for two hours and made good progress. We had a lot of fun.

We had song selection and I wanted to do "Wish You Were Here" again. I want to dedicate this song this week for my band "Love Hammers" and all my friends and family that got me to where I am right now.

We also had our final dinner at the mansion - there were filet Mignon steaks and other gourmet food set up for us poolside overlooking the City of Los Angeles skyline.  I am going to miss a lot of things about this mansion. 1. The amazing 360 degree view of the city from Downtown to the Hollywood sign. 2. Watching Sunset with a glass of wine by the basketball court.  3. Living, Breathing & Writing music each and every  day with such creative people surrounding me.  After we finished dinner MiG, J.D. & I found a photo album of pictures from the beginning of the show all the way through to the final 4.  It was so fun to see these pictures and remember all the crazy nights we have had here.  I have made some friends for life and can't wait to see everyone again.

Last Friday we woke up early around 6:00 a.m. and were driven to KLOS radio station for a live jam session with Mark & Brian, the morning radio personalities. They were both so cool to us and we had an absolute blast.  The house band was there and we went full on acoustic.  J.D. sang first and then I stepped in and sang "Trees" and closed out with "Suicide Blond." There was a huge crowd of lovely ladies watching the show and I had them sing the last chorus of "Trees" with me.  MiG ended the set with "What You Need" and sang it really well.

After the morning radio show we went straight into rehearsal for the finale.  I realize that this is one of the last times I will get to jam with the house band and try to enjoy every minute of their talents. After rehearsal it was time to pack up our belongings and move out of the mansion.  It was really sad to be leaving but on the other hand it felt like closure to the house and I set my sights on kicking butt at the finale.  I have so many great memories from this summer spent in the mansion on the hill.  This is definitely one of the highlights of my life.

I am excited for Tuesday and want the final show to be spectacular.  I can't wait to jam with INXS.  This is definitely going to be a night to remember!

deicate "Wish You Were Here" to Michael Hutchens (not the damn Love Hammers)...

if you dedicate it to Michael Hutchens on behalf of all YOU WILL WIN...

do not be stupid man... its because of Michael HutchensYou & the other 2 doofuses are there ...

Good Luck- you're the obvious best choice between the others...

mig= Donny Osmond- if INXS choose mig I hope they fail and they will...

JD is ok and could be a good front man but he leans toward ELVIS and his songs all sound the same

if you lay off the Jerry Cantrell Pearl jam sound Marty- YOU WILL BE THE BEST MAN for INXS.

    I am outta here

<<INXS don't want a singer that is safe and uncreative. Marty lied to all of us when he said Trees was a new song - his band Lovehammer has been playing it for years and recorded it - this is cheating, making JD the only one to perform a new song that INXS actually liked - Marty performed Trees to hype up his own band. Mig's song was pure cheese and there is no way he's winning tonight - he is way too cheesy and belongs in an 80's hair band, or in theatre.

Good luck JD, you don't need it though

Okay I just have to comment...because as silly as these post are...when did he lie?? He stated on the show that this was a song he had written earlier collaborating with another person. You all take this way too seriously...All three performers have every right in the world to be here...they have every right to have their own opinions about others....I also don't think anyone of us can be 100% sure who will win...and all three will do great.
My personal hope if for Marty as I believe it can make INXS a little bit more edgy but anyone of them can do it!!! And remember it NO LONGER IS UP TO ANY OF US!!!!

    Good luck Marty.

I have mixed feelings about you winning this competition. I LOVE watching you perform. So, I want to be able to see you make it big with INXS.

BUT at the same time I wouldn't be sad to see you lose to Mig or JD b/c I would love it even more if you made it big with the Lovehammers.

I know what ever happens I will support you and your music! Good luck tonight!

    Daniel,

I guess we agree on 3 things. We think MiG is not right for INXS (cruise ship - that's a good one), we will find out what INXS is really about tonight, and we can agree to disagree. But.... Have you been watching the show at all?!?! Marty just standing there like a tree? Give me a break with the weak analogy. Watch his past performances - Off the crack this time. Oh yeah, I'd much rather watch JD's Elvis snarl, goofy hand shaking like he's having a seizure, and hear one-range voice that makes everything sound the same. No thank you. And I'm glad you think the competition is over, for the rest of the world knows that there is still one more night to impress INXS. You must be on Wednesday already.

Stop being so sensitive Daniel.... You're hurting JD's wanna try to be cool image. Get some refuge by blogging out over there at JD's blog. You keep posting here and we may all start to think of you as a closet Marty fan. You know you want Marty to win.

For whatever its worth, I wanted to add my voice to the many who have supported your amazing talent from the first day of Rockstar. Your family must be so proud of your work ethic, your intelligence, and humility, which has made all of us love you even more. I'm a busy working mom, and I'm not ashamed to say that I've taken the time to vote for you and "Trees" every chance I had. I've found myself humming the Trees tune for days on end, I love it so much. Even my three-year old loves it!. Can't wait for it to be released. You must know that you have already won, because your fans will follow you wherever you go. I, for one, am willing to bet that INXS will do the right thing tonight. I'm a member of the INXS generation, and I'm so looking forward to seeing you lead the band to a new era. By the way, on a personal note (and I'm hoping that you do read these comments) I have been going through some personal hard times, and your music has truly helped me through. I will always remember that, and I thank you for it.

Wow, what can I say? I can't believe it's time for the finale. I would have to say 75% of me is excited and 25% is nervous. I can't imagine how you are feeling. I want to wish you the very best of luck this evening. I will cross my fingers for you as I believe you will be the best fit for the job. Your passion is truly evident in your commentary, the shows, and in your writings. Especially when you scream yeah, yeah, ...yeah...yeah, yeah! and bend over backwards for every last breath. I love how you hold and carry yourself. You are a true professional as well. Good Luck in the future with your dreams of success and with love up in the trees. Can't wait to see the show tonight. I wouldn't miss it for anything.

    Sting,
hey man, I said I loved you, but I lied... the fact is that no matter how many ways you rationalize Marty's "control" issue, he is still a control freak. I know that there is the excuse "this is a competition," but that is over, and all the performers should just put that aside and sing their best song and show who they are and let INXS make their pick. Why does Marty have to act like a dick. Why doesn't he just focus on himself and his performance and stop trying to pull everyone else down like us "haters." isn't that our job here, he should just do his. and anyway, Marty is a freaking Tree. It is the perfect symbol for his Autistic tendencies. the guy just stands there, like a tree, and doesn't really have stage dynamics. i can't say that he won't win, because I do not know INXS and do not know what they are really looking for. I do know that Mig is not the one, and I have full confidence that he will be a great act on a cruise ship one day... that's about the best he can hope for. I think J.D. is a perfect fit, stylistically, musically, and creatively, and even sings some of the INXS songs as good or better than Michael Hutchence because he has passion and Marty wants to control things too much, himself and his tree like body included. Good for real estate not for art. I guess tonight we'll find out who INXS really are.

    Marty,

As a diehard city fan I cannot imagine a life in the trees, but for you I am sure most city girls would make an exception. Good luck and keep up the positive attitude and the intensity. No matter what happens, you have rabid fans near and far so wherever you go and with whomever you play you will sell out the venue. You are a rockstar no matter what and I cannot wait to see you live. Seriously, I cannot wait. I am going to have such a major bout of depression when this show is over and I hope you have live performances back in Chicago to help me fill the void. Good luck and Good job. We love you back here at home and have been rooting you on since your first note. Make each one count tonight. We are pulling for you.

Marty, I hope you read this... I just wanted you to know that for some reason, when you sang Trees for the first time, I was mezmarized. I actually got goose bumps. Not sure what all that was about, but one thing is for sure... you touched my soul with that song. I normally don't comment on these types of websites, or make my presence known, but talent such as yours will bring many great things. Receiving compliments from fans is just the beginning. May God be with you and bless you in all that you do.

Oh, how silly people can be when they're not following their own dreams! It seems it's easier for people to come down on others who are, eh?

The three finalists are ALL talented. They're livin' it up and having the time of their lives. Woohoo!

Me? I hope Marty gets it. He's got the talent, the creativity, the discipline, the passion and the heart and I would definitely buy INXS' cd were he the lead.

I wish everyone luck tonight... dunno if I could handle the stress of it.

Marty, thanks for the inspiration. I am now a fan for life who is 100% living her dream, thanks to you.

No need for "haters" on this blog. It's obvious that the 3 remaining are those who INXS find the most fitting for their band. Each of the 3 have their own unique style and have brought us all amazing performances. This happens to be MARTY's blog and his fans are the ones posting kudos and best wishes for HIM. I happen to be one of his fans and would hope that those wanting to "diss" him, do it elsewhere.

Marty, my sincere best wishes to you tonight!
