Hi Marty,

I think it would be cool if you sang"Not Given Lightly" by Chris Knox. He is a New Zealand singer/songwriter. It is one of my favourite songs to sing along with. He has a sweet, edgy kind of approach to it. I would love to hear your rock take on the same song.

"Pink Frost" by The Chills or "Shark Attack" by Split Enz could be fun too. (Yes, both kiwi bands.) The former is a moody kind of creepy song that you might have fun with and the latter is full-on energy plus.

Oh, Oh...."Now" by Fur Patrol. Julia Deans is a great songwriter. I love to sing along with her stuff. If I sing it well I feel really stoked because her songs are so well crafted and require skill and heart to sing well. You would absolutely nail it.( FYI The first album is called Pet)

The advantage of Kiwi songs is no-one in the US knows anything about them so you can't be judged against the way someone else did it. (Well that and we have some kick-ass songwriters down here.) Except in NZ of course but we can't vote so we don't count. Of course that only works if everyone is doing songs that no-one has heard before.

Whatever you do Marty, it will be awesome.

Thanks to you I wake up singing "Hit me Baby One More Time" Marty style. Its kind of disturbing but also sort of compelling. Thanks for the new perspective. I look forward to hearing more from you. More, more more.

I would like to hear Marty sing Take a Picture from Filter.

I think it is a good choice because he will have to sing with half of his voice. I am curious if he can control himself long enough to finish the song without screaming.

I would love to hear Marty sing anything! I have loved all the songs Marty has performed....I WOULD LOVE TO HEAR Marty sing... Wish you were here. That song, showed the world the softer side of Marty's voice, he has so much talent he could sing anything! We love you Marty, you will be the lead singer of INXS!

I love everything Marty has already done. So I choose something new. Definately believe that he can rise to any challange. I think we all are In Love with the softer, gentler side we saw with HIWYWH, but still get sooo turned on by the marveouslous screaming Marty. Don't ever loose the "Scary Conductor" it is too cool. You have an amazing talent for drawing in your audience into the "Rockin' World of Marty" And Love that you are gazing into the camera more as you sing...We ladies out here can't enough of Marty's beautiful and sexy eyes. You are a total package; a beautiful and respected person inside and out. I feel really fortunate for this opportunity to experience YOU!!!!!

how about you get marty to sing a song by another aussie group - I first saw INXS at Chandler velodrome in Brisbane when I was about 15 and those very same songs they sang then still rock!!!!!!!! How about a Powderfinger song, like Waiting for the Sun? or My Happiness. Or if you want to try something different how about Coldplay to show his vulnerable side or The Who for some real rockin songs - like teenage wasteland or u2 "Gloria" for something totally amazing!

I would love to hear Marty sing "Wasteland" by "10 years", it is a great song and I think Marty would kick ass on it.

Wow!!!! I could write a book, but I think "wow" covers it.

I hope this is the space to request a song for a musician. It would be nice to hear Marty perform Peter gabrielle's "In your Eyes" and hear what he can do with that, or U2's "Pride" I think both those songs can provide Marty with the opportunity to explore his vocal range, softer and less softer voice.

Keep in learning and challenging yourself Marty. Well done.

i chose the wild card song for Marty because it "if you could only see" is a beautiful, passionate, evokative song and Marty has proven time and again that he puts so much feeling into everything he sings, and i think he'll do this song wonderfully.

Marty, I just want to tell you that originally, I did NOT want to watch Rockstar:INXS.
I was a huge fan of Michael Hutchence and after he died, I felt there was no INXS left and that the remaining members should stop.
By complete accident, I caught the very end of one of the performance shows (I think you sang Lithium).
I am now completely addicted to the show.
My husband, just the other day mentioned that someday he would like to go to an INXS concert. He knew how I felt about it (I have seen them twice when Michael was alive). Before this, I would tell him "no way".
However, Marty, if YOU are chosen as the new lead singer, I have told my husband we are DEFINITELY going!!! Good luck!!!

Marty you are incredible! I love watching you perform. The intensity in each song is unreal. I'd love to hear you do Bush's 'Comedown'. The music is mellow yet edgy and with your voice on lead, I can't imagine loving a song more.
